Three Republican U.S. Senate candidates to speak in Litchfield

The three Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Democrat Chris Dodd have agreed to discuss their candidacies and take questions during upcoming meetings of the Litchfield-Morris Rotary Club.

Linda McMahon and Rob Simmons will appear separately on April 15. Peter Schiff will appear May 6. Their party convention will choose the nominee later that month.

The Rotary Club meets at noon in Litchfield. The site for these meetings will be announced soon.

Other upcoming guests include candidates for governor and the 5th Congressional District seat.

A number of invitations are pending.

McMahon, Simmons and Schiff debated this week at the University of Hartford, as did Democratic candidates Richard Blumenthal and Merrick Alpert. A Rasmussen poll released today showed Blumenthal with wide leads over all three Republican candidates.
